Xoom vs. Galaxy vs. iPad2

I've recently wrote a comparison article on the Motorola Xoom vs. the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I'm currently seeking to buy a tablet device and was aiming only at Android tablets. The conclusion on that article was, that both reviewed devices were almost identical, in terms of design, hardware/software and price tags. (Very uncompetitive in my opinion) So I'll do a follow up to that article , throwing Apple's iPad in the game. Let us see what conclusions we can draw up after that. I should also state at this point that I generally don't like Apple and their products due to bad personal experience. I'll try my best for a un-biased comparison/review.

As before, I'll start with the design.

The iPad compared to the other devices is larger in surface area (442 cm^2). Weighs almost the same as the Galaxy, but it is a bit thinner. The body is made of aluminum and it is of high build quality. Since again I don't have one on hand to be sure, I base my assumption on that Apple is consisted in build quality of their products and since I've held and used the iPad 1, I can tell for sure that that iPad2, will be of the same build quality. Overall it is again an oversized iPhone.

The hardware.

We mentioned on the previous article that the Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy 10.1 were identical in terms of hardware. This time we see that the Apple iPad2 is completely different and in some cases inferior to the competition. For example, the screen features lower resolution than the other two devices. No expandable memory, you can buy some accessories for that problem like Seagate's GoFlex Satellite for 200$, but that would mean carrying around extra stuff which you can avoid with the microSD cards. Adobe Flash support. At Apple, they can argue as long as they like, but Flash is still in use in the majority of websites. According to some websites, the camera, both front and rear, are of less quality than the competition. I can't say for sure, but I saw some good pictures taken with the first iPad. My personal opinion is, that the iPad2 is lacking behind compared to the competition.

Now let's see the last comparison. That is: The Price Tag !!

32 GB 3G+Wifi-$799.99 (~560€)$729 (~510€)

32 GB WiFi Only$599 (~420€)$599 (~420€)$599 (~420€)

It is very clear that Samsung and Motorola deliver superior products, in the tablet market, at the same price as Apple does. I would never consider buying an iPad, but don't let my personal feelings and opinions get in your way. I delivered the details, you make up your mind on what to buy.
